Don’s Story
Caregiver Talks About Adult Day Services

photo of Don and wife Helen

My wife of 58 years goes to Common Sense Services for Seniors Day Center (CSS) three days a week from 10AM until 4PM.

She had a stroke on February 1, 1998, which seemed to bring on the Alzheimer’s Disease. Her short memory is very poor. The only ability she has is feeding herself.

In December 2000 we heard about CSS. She began attending the group in March 2000. The staff in charge are well trained and take good care of the men and women at the center.

This 18 hours a week gives me a break to do some shopping, mow the lawn, and even swing a golf club. Lunch is served at the center, and my wife also has her hair appointment there every Wednesday. I appreciate the kind service she receives from the staff.

Carrie’s Story

photo of Mrs. Carrie Lacey

Mrs. Carrie Lacey is a retired elementary school principal who lives in Minnetonka Beach with her son and his family. Carrie is a superlative person who looks for the positive in life.

Of her experiences at Open Circle Senior Day Center, she says “Everything is wonderful! The staff is outstanding. The programs are excellent! I love the crafts, the music, dancing, entertainment. The bus outings and trips to the park are wonderful. I enjoy my new friends, the kids who visit us, the circle of prayer — everything is outstanding!”
